It's main objective is to provide and manage secure, Social and Affordable Housing for people on low to moderate incomes who would otherwise struggle to find accommodation. Hepatitis ACT work to help prevent hepatitis transmission in our community and reduce the impacts for people affected. We provide clinical services direct to the community including mental health, Aboriginal health, fitness and lifestyle programs, dietetics, youth health, foot care. We focus on our local health gaps and develop local strategies to address them. STEPS is a 24 hour residential facility which is delivered in partnership with Catholic Care. The program supports young people aged experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues as an alternative to a hospital admission.
The ACT Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) provides a 24-hour, seven day a week service used for assessment and treatment of mentally ill people in crisis situations. Walk-in Centres help people get free, one-off treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. You can see an experienced Registered Nurse for advice, assessment and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries such as cuts and bruises, minor infections, strains, sprains, skin complaints and coughs and colds.
We are a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. SHFPACT delivers sexual and reproductive health services to the Canberra community , within a framework of human rights, social justice and prudent financial management. The OPMHCT has an Intensive Treatment Service (ITS) that focuses on providing intensive care to people who have recently been discharged from hospital or who are living in the community but require extra support.

This process can continue until your instructor thinks you have succeeded in combining the lessons and can swim the proper way. Offers online support and advice for young people experiencing depression. The national telephone and online counselling, support, information and referral service for men with family and relationship concerns. The Way Back Support Service is delivered to people who have been admitted to a hospital following a suicide attempt or people experiencing a suicide crisis. We are a specialist drug treatment service providing clients with the resources they need to successfully withdraw and abstain from alcohol and other drugs.
The centres are open 7 days a week, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day between 7.30am and 10pm. Adult Step Up Step Down offers up to three calendar months of support. This includes both residential support with Well Ways and up to six weeks’ outreach (non-residential) support. An Anglican Aboriginal Ministry offering spiritual teaching and community support in the areas of art and craft projects, women’s group and youth initiatives. A team of Aboriginal health workers and nurse’s work with local GP’s to improve the health of Aboriginal people locally.
Referrals are received from General Practitioners, School COunsellors or other concerned health professionals. Depending on what your concerns are, we will make a referral to a CHS mental health service or provide you with information and advice on other services available in the ACT. Referral to a CHS mental health service is subject to clinical assessment and eligibility and is intended for people at immediate risk of safety or experiencing moderate to severe mental illness. The AMHU provides a safe and comfortable environment for people receiving both voluntary and involuntary care for acute mental illness or disorder. The AMHU provides brief individualised care which supports people to safely return back to their community setting.
